File to link
The general case. If it is a file, it has a link — and 2L works out what it is on the way in, so the page the recipient opens fits what you sent instead of being the same grey download box every time.
Drag it here, paste it, or press to choose a file. 2L works out what it is and shows it properly.
Custom names, replacing contents and download controls are part of Plus. See the plans.
Not just somewhere to put it.
The link is the easy part. What matters is the page on the other end of it.
No format menu
You never pick a type. The bytes are examined as they arrive, and the link presents itself accordingly: a document opens in a reader, a table opens as a table, an archive offers itself for download with its contents named honestly.
One link for many files
Drop a folder’s worth and get a single link holding all of it, with a download-all button that builds the archive on demand.
Sized for real files
Up to 2 GB per file on Pro. Large uploads are chunked by the page, so a dropped connection resumes instead of starting from zero.
About file to link
What file types are allowed?
Do I need an account?
Can I replace the file later without changing the link?
Who else can see it?
The same box takes all of it.
There is no format menu anywhere in this product. These pages exist because people search for them, not because 2L works differently for each one.
